Summer’s winding down, and if you’ve been thinking about selling, you may be wondering if you’ve missed your chance. Maybe waiting until next year or spring sounds like the better move, but that may not be the case.
Not so fast. About one in three home sales happen during the last four months of the year.
Fall Is Busier than You Think
Data from the National Association of Realtors (NAR) shows that about one third of existing home sales happen during the final four months of the year. And that number has increased every year since 2023.
Forecasts from Fannie Mae, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), NAR, and Wells Fargo suggest there will be about 4.16 million existing home sales this year. Based on sales so far, roughly 1.4 million more could happen between now and December.
That works out to about 11,800 homes selling every day this fall.
The market isn’t frozen, and you don’t have to put your plans on hold either. Higher rates may be keeping some buyers on the sidelines, but waiting until spring could mean missing months when serious buyers are ready to make a move.
How do you reach the buyers who are still looking right now? Selling your home this season comes down to pricing it right and making sure it shows well. That’s where a local agent can make a big difference.
A good agent knows what buyers in your area are looking for, helps you price your home for today’s market, and makes sure it stands out to serious buyers. From the first photo to the final offer, they handle the details that can help get your home sold.
Bottom Line
Listing this fall doesn’t mean your home will sit until spring. Buyers are still out there and ready to move before the new year, so your opportunity is still here.
Let’s connect and work together to get your home sold this season.
